Love Poems

By Mikki My little girl, Kara Beth, is 28 today. The years have flown by. I remember the excitement of knowing I was pregnant, the thrill of knowing my baby was a girl, the moment of first hearing her heartbeat, the joy of her arrival. And now here we are so many years later, she and I. I am her mom when she needs, and how I love that role and yet we have grown, evolved, changed. We are friends as well. I distinctly remember seeing her become her own self, toddling around with my necklaces and girly stuff, and I knew my fears were needless.

To my future daughter

Dear Captain Awkward, I am a 34 year old straight woman in an open marriage with a 39 year straight man. I have taken far more advantage of the openness of our marriage than my husband, at least until recently. I have had a string of long-term affairs and short-term flings. During the past 8 months I have basically been living with another man in a neighbouring town to the one I live in. I am drawn to men who are starkly different than my husband, who is an intellectual, moderate in terms of his vices and has a disdain for the type of men who spend every evening in a pub.

I have a drinking problem but it is not a problem I feel any need to resolve and I am drawn to men who are also drinkers like me.

Let these daughter quotes remind you of the love and the bond you will have with your little girl. Our daughters are special and they are beautiful. May these quotes give you words that express your feelings for your daughter.

This is about one of those defining moments. It has to do with being the father of a daughter. Parenthood is tough enough, but being the father of a female is whole lot more challenging than being the father of a male. I have a poem on this blog site that openly professes that my knowledge and understanding of women is very limited and that makes trying to raise one very challenging.

Everything that you do embarrasses them, even when you are not trying to. They will disavow you the first time your credit card is declined. And, of course, they go through much different physical changes growing up than boys do. Need I say more about that? You do the best you can. You try to be a good husband and good father so they can see how that is supposed to be and they have a frame of reference when they grow up and have a serious relationship.

You are respectful to women, especially their mother, and you spend time with them even if means going to the mall and shopping and going to little girl movies.

for my daughter

Paula Chin April 01, Houses were quiet and streets nearly empty. But inside the Tabernacle Baptist Church, the pews were filled and the air rang with song. Six hundred people had gathered to celebrate a deliverance:

To the boys who may one day date my daughter! I have been waiting for you. Since before her birth, Since before my spark took hold and ignited the fire in her mother’s belly.

Where, while that severed doth remain, This grave partakes the fleshly birth; Which cover lightly, gentle earth! Ben Jonson Click through the tabs below to explore my analysis of different aspects of the poem. As the next best thing after Shakespeare, Jonson was a pretty influential writer in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, but much more interesting than that he was in prison a couple of times: The background to this poem is heartbreaking.

In when he was just 21, his wife gave birth to their first child — a daughter named Mary. However, Mary died at around 6 months old.

On My First Daughter Ben Jonson

In November, it will be two years since my mother died after a prolonged illness. My father started dating a woman this summer. I supported him finding companionship.

In an effort to give the people what they are clamoring for, I have made these shirts depicting the “10 Rules for Dating my Daughter.” There are also a few other fun shirts in the same theme on our store.

The Nigerian dating scams target the lonely and vulnerable. The most common comment of victims who think they have found the love of their life is “I can’t believe I was so stupid! The Nigerian dating scams are hugely profitable. The Nigerians call them ‘maghas’ which is slang for gullible white people. The scammers spend their day trolling the dating sites and chat rooms for contact emails, and then send off thousands of fraudulent letters and emails awaiting the victim’s replies.

They are offering the chance of finding true love and happiness, and there are plenty of takers! However sooner or later, the vulnerable hearts receive requests that will ultimately lead to financial losses and heartbreak. The scammers choose chat rooms and dating sites because the person in love offers the chance of the biggest payoffs.

How Does the Scam Work? The Nigerian dating scams are often not easy to detect as the scammers are often highly educated, have exceptional patience and they do their homework! The scammers start by stealing a photo from an internet site. They prefer to use images of white people capitalising on stereotypes and perceptions. The photos are usually of beautiful people and the quality of the photo is high.

A poem about bullying: I have been worrying for quite some time now, about how Bunny will cope at secondary school. I just have to trust that my daughter will come to me and tell me if something like that happens. I was very close to my mum as a child and she was brilliant with getting it resolved when I was bullied. There were kids in the popular crowd — was I supposed to report them all? Would it have made things any better?

While the poem was included in his Works published in , the date of its writing remains unknown. A religious man, and a Catholic at the time of this poem’s creation, Jonson adopts the attitude that all humans remain on loan from God, to whom they must return at his pleasure. As George Parfitt notes, Jonson held a specific moral vision constantly revealed in his poetry. He supported that vision through use of a recurrent “ethical vocabulary,” including terms such as virtue.

From Mother to Daughter Submitted By: angeleyes This is just to say (though by now, you must know!) how happy I am and how lucky I feel to have you for a daughter.

Since she was a child, she’d routinely amaze, beyond the end of my days. Remember, it doesn’t matter how old she might be at the time. If she’s really young, you could still share it with her and she’ll eventually understand it and it will mean a lot to her in the future. And if she’s older, she’ll appreciate it when you share it with her right now. A Poem from a Mother to a Daughter The next poem is from a mother to a daughter, who are usually quite close and share a special bond. I’m actually going to email this poem to my mom and tell her to share it with her only daughter my sister.

Precious Rose From the day that you were born, and I held you very close, I knew in my joyful heart, that you’re my very precious rose. My life changed for the better, I felt it in my heart, I just knew, for the rest of my life, we’d never be apart. Months and years have passed, and I watched you mature and grow, I promised myself, forever, my love for you, I’ll show. I wish you a beautiful life, filled with joy and infinite bliss, I’ll always be your mother, and my precious rose I kiss. But when this child grows up and becomes a young adult, the relationship may change more into a close friendship.

Since the daughter no longer requires instructions at every step and has become a self-thinking individual who makes her own decisions.
