Very few players want to sit around waiting for someone to learn how to use the Relic. Give players the chance to practice performing all of the valid roles inside a raid and participation may increase. One way they could fix this is by simplifying portions of the raid even more, or even adding small sections of the raid into Random Strike Playlists. According to PlayStation Network, out of all Destiny 2 players, only Granted, that number does include players who played the campaign and left, or players who simply played the game for a small time and then stopped, but regardless, the number is incredibly low.
The raids are tailored to be more challenging and strategic than the other content in the game. Raids put teamwork and communication to the test as fireteams face off against incredibly challenging enemies or puzzles that need to be solved to advance. Typically, raids have two or three bosses and a puzzle encounter or two, all of which test the communication and skill of the fireteam as a whole as they try to get higher power gear.

Destiny 2 places limits on the amount of XP a player can earn over a short period of time.
Leveling up gets you cosmetic unlocks like weapon skins and character emotes that are otherwise only available via real-money purchases in-game. Practically speaking, all of this means it takes longer to unlock those goodies through the “natural” process of actually playing the game. Now, it isn’t inherently bad that Bungie would try to strike a balance between the time required to earn cosmetic items vs.
That’s business, plain and simple. The problem in Destiny 2, as dedicated fans have discovered, is the invisible presence of these XP-limiting machinations. Weapons found during the raid generally have special abilities that make the raid itself easier on repeat attempts or hard mode. The raid is set up for six players, but it can be completed by three.
